Understanding the Client

Considering it was a recently established company, we needed to understand the company’s mission, determine their target audience, and assess their digital product.

Their platform, RedBee, is meant to serve as an internal tool for smaller banks to use as a way of managing their customer data and pinpoint areas of growth. By integrating AI, banks can use predictive analytics to determine at-risk consumers to improve customer retention.

Although, their digital product was still in the early stages of design, we assessed the user experience and interface of their platform to determine what areas were most critical to highlight.

We collaborated closely with the UX Copywriting team on Miro and Google Docs to discuss the content and structure of the site.

Some Basic Branding

With such short time, our first step was to provide explorations for the logo and color palette.

For the logotype, we mostly chose sans-serif fonts to maintain a modern appearance. We played with different weights to create some visual interest and differentiation between the two parts of the logo. For options 4-6, we explored more “quirky” typefaces that gave the logo more personality but still maintained the charm of a proper sans-serif font.

We provided 2 color themes. Theme 1 was more reminiscent of a typical tech-based company—saturated blues and violets as the main hues, paired with a more unusual accent color. Theme 2 intended to rely more on monotone colors—using black/white for the negative space and preserving pops of saturated color only to be used as accents.

The client chose logotype option 3 and color theme 2.

Color Variables & Type Styles

To optimize, we utilized tokenized color systems in Figma. This allowed us to quickly design Light and Dark mode screens. To add some visual interest, we created some cool-toned gradients to use for certain backgrounds or accents.

For the Heading and Subheading text styles, we used Degular because of its modern yet personable appearance. The typeface’s heavy contrast between thin and thick lines added some eccentricity to the site. Since the color palette is simple, we needed a typeface that would add back some visual engagement.

Building Out the Site

Due to the quick deadline, we built the website in Webflow using a pre-made template. However we altered the layout, color, and text styles according to our branding.

The Platform at a Glance

The client later asked us to design a downloadable PDF that would explain the key features of their platform. Instead, we proposed that creating a separate page on their website to showcase their tool would be the most effective and easiest for users to digest.

Paid Media Assets

Part of the scope was to create a set of 15 advertisements to run on LinkedIn and Google. We created 5 different concepts and designed in 3 different aspect ratios. The overall goal was to appeal to the company’s main audience—community banks. We wanted to sell the idea that TurmaFinTech helps small institutions enhance their customer experience by leveraging AI and technology.

The Results

Although the only task that was in the original scope was to design a landing page, we were able to steadily provide additional assets that would help expand the potential of the client's product. Along the journey, we created additional site pages to grant a better user experience for potential customers. Providing design and animation support for additional assets such as pitch flyers, paid media and video helped to create an overall cohesive brand experience.
